Science Team Wins National Inter-School Quiz Competition
Our Science Quiz team emerged champions at the 2024 National Secondary Schools Science Quiz, defeating over 300 schools from across Nigeria.
Luminary College's Science Quiz team has brought home the gold at the 2024 National Secondary Schools Science Quiz Competition held in Lagos. Our team of three students — Chukwuemeka Obi (SS2), Fatima Al-Hassan (SS2), and Daniel Adegoke (SS3) — defeated over 300 schools from all 36 states and the FCT.
The competition, organised by the Nigerian Science Foundation, tests students' knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics across multiple elimination rounds.
Team captain Chukwuemeka Obi described the victory: "We prepared for this for over six months. Our HOD, Mrs. Eze, and the science faculty were incredibly supportive throughout the process."
The team will now represent Nigeria at the West African regional science competition in Ghana next year. The school celebrated their triumph with a special assembly attended by parents, staff, and the entire student body.
