2024 Inter-House Sports: Red House Clinches the Championship
The 2024 Inter-House Sports competition concluded with Red House (Nelson Mandela) claiming the championship trophy after a thrilling four-day event.
The Luminary College 2024 Inter-House Sports Competition concluded on a high note with Red House (Nelson Mandela House) clinching the overall championship trophy after four days of intense athletic competition.
The competition, which featured over 800 participating students across 12 sporting disciplines including athletics, football, basketball, volleyball, swimming, and table tennis, was described by observers as the most competitive in the school's history.
Final standings: 1. Red House (Nelson Mandela) — 425 points 2. Blue House (Wole Soyinka) — 398 points 3. Green House (Chinua Achebe) — 376 points 4. Yellow House (Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala) — 340 points
Outstanding athlete Chiamaka Eze (SS1) broke the school's 100m record with a time of 11.8 seconds. FCT Commissioner for Youth and Sports attended and presented medals to category winners.
"Sport builds character, resilience, and teamwork," said Mr. Segun Falola, HOD Physical Education. "The standards displayed this year are a testament to the commitment of our students to total excellence."
